Inspired by a summer day trip onto Exmoor. We packed up the camping stove and went off exploring. I took my watercolours and sketchbook to capture the colours and textures of the rolling moors. It was idylic and tranquil. I wanted to capture that day and returned to the studio itching to turn those sketches into a larger painting. Rolling Moors as far as the eye can see. Solitude. Nature. Held in time.
